Memory Sonnet

My mind whispers memory in silence.
There come too many days thinking alone.
Never to reveal all they have shone.
I felt vulnerable, scared of violence.

Keep my jaded heart from turning to stone.
Many moves across distant, foreign seas
Have removed friends and loved ones far from me.
In a suitcase I packed all left that I owned.

Sometimes I hear a cry fading in breeze,
Having travelled so far on a feather.
How, I, too, wish we could be together.
Have I heard wrong while so much on my knees?

Sing through the tall glass window pane
Reflections of me look so much the same.
